UKS2— Art and design—Artists, designers and art appreciation—A

As part of their preparation for creating their own natural disaster collages, UKS2 explored the work of artist Jave Yoshimoto. They considered how his cultural heritage and responses to current world events have influenced his artistic style and subject matter. Through close observation of his use of colour, pattern and composition, the children created detailed artist studies, developing their understanding of his techniques and gathering inspiration and ideas for their own creative collages.
