UKS2 – Classes 8 & 9 – Maths

In Miss Boyd’s maths group today, we learnt how to use Powers of 10. We went outside and explored how numbers can grow quickly when we multiply them by 10 again and again. We practised saying the powers out loud and spotted patterns in the zeros that appeared. We had envelopes hidden all around the outdoor classroom, each with an answer inside. We worked in pairs with question cards, solving problems using what we had learnt about powers of 10. Once we had our answers, we had to search for the matching envelope and check if we were right.
