UKS2 – Geography: Human and Physical (a) and (d) – 25.09.26

In Geography this week, UKS2 researched two significant volcanic eruptions: La Cumbre Vieja in 2021 and Volcán de Fuego in 2018. Working in groups, the children explored the different impacts of each eruption and organised their findings into four key areas: people, infrastructure, the economy, and long-term impacts.

We then discussed the question: “If you had £10 million to help people affected by a volcanic eruption, where would you spend it?” Using the research they had gathered, the children began working collaboratively to plan how they would allocate the £10 million. They had to consider which areas were most in need of support and justify their decisions using evidence from their research. Next lesson, we will debate our findings and decisions as a class.
