UKS2 – Newsletter – 11/09/2020

It has been an action packed and exciting first week back in UKS2. In English, pupils role played a scene from ‘Street Child’, our text for the term. The acting was highly emotive and the children relished the opportunity to experience the world through the eyes of Jim Jarvis.

Also this week, Class 10 have begun to explore the tale of ‘The Dot’.  Using the book by Peter H Reynolds, Year 6 began to investigate the morals of the story and the inspirational influences it can have on us in school. Class 8 and 9 will also be discovering ‘The Dot’ next week!

In maths this week, Miss Barnicoat’s class have been revisiting place value. Using their whiteboards, the children were challenged to solve as many calculations as possible – some even managed to answer all of them!

Finally, today UKS2 had their first green time of the new term. The children had four exciting options to choose from, including: IT, art, board games and Forest School. We are looking forward to more Fridays full of fun in the coming weeks.
