UKS2 – Newsletter – 17.01.20

This week has been an incredibly exciting week in UKS2. We have been fortunate enough to welcome Dr. Rushworth into school and experience the planetarium. An interactive, awe-inspiring and educational facility, the planetarium allowed us to jump into outer space to explore our solar system and the further reaches of the universe. In addition to this, we were able to create a scale model of our solar system, using polystyrene balls to represent the planets in the school hall.

This term we are beginning to implement fluency in history. Using the website Kahoot, children have been quizzed on their knowledge of the space race utilising this fun and interactive online tool. We hope to continue this throughout the rest of the year to help pupils remember key dates and factual information.

For the final task of our cross-curricular day, the pupils were tasked with designing their own space mission badges. Taking inspiration from a variety of sources, the children created some colourful, inspiring and spectacular badges!
