UKS2 – Newsletter – 17.05.2021

It has been a fantastic week in UKS2. On Monday, we had a geography themed cross-curricular day. Using a range of skills including map reading, labelling the UK and completing a world map jigsaw, the children enjoyed an insightful look into the world of geography. In addition, the children also used Now>Press> Play and took a leap back in time to Pompeii and the eruption of Mount Vesuvius!

On Wednesday, Class 8 have been explored Linnaean’s classification systems of animals in science. After sorting their pictures into groups, the children had an in depth discussion with our resident science expert – Mr Adamson – and then created their own posters displaying their learning.

On Thursday class 10 completed their ICT session in English, animating their own versions of ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’.

Finally today, we enjoyed our Eid celebration! After enjoying some fantastic food, some members of UKS2 received tattoos and face paintings to celebrate!

It is PPA day on Monday so children need to attend school in their PE kit. Have a good weekend.
