UKS2 – Newsletter – 30.04.2021

It has been a busy week in UKS2. We have been finishing off our Aztec newspaper report on the Battle of Otumba. Using a range of writing skills, the children have planned, edited and re-written their newspaper report, exploring the impact of the battle of Otumba on the fall of the Aztec empire.

In science on Tuesday, Class 10 were developing their understanding of classification by organising pictures of different animals into groups. The pupils then looked at the Linnaean system of classification, watched a video about classifying animals and then finished off with a game of guess who!

On Thursday, we had their first experience in the treehouse! After waiting months in anticipation, all three classes (following COVID secure guidelines) enjoyed climbing, sliding and jumping around the Cookridge treehouse. The children also had the opportunity to enjoy Now Press Play and a kahoot session on the ICT equipment, in an action packed carousel.

Don’t forget that school is closed on Monday (03.05.2021) for the bank holiday. We hope you have a brilliant long weekend and we will see you on Tuesday!
