UKS2 – Newsletter – 4.11.22

It has been a brilliant first week back in UKS2!

On Monday, UKS2 had their first cross-curricular day of the half term. Using Halloween as their inspiration, the children took part in a range of activities throughout the course of the day.

Using pumpkins, kindly donated to us by Kemps Farm, Horsforth, the children carved some fabulous and spooky lanterns!!

Alongside pumpkin carving, the children made vegetable soup, cooked and prepared from scratch, and created their own Halloween decorations.

We want to extend an enormous thank you to Kemps Farm for donating the pumpkins, the children had a fantastic (and spooky) time!

On Wednesday in computing, we learnt about what a computer network is.

Together, we thought about all the technology we have in our school that people use to communicate and work. We then considered how they work and the relationship between servers, switches, routers and different devices.

The children then created their own replica network using string to create their diagrams.

Finally, our learnatics for this week are: Aliciya and Mohammed (Class 8), Rahand and Jacob (Class 9) and Eleanor and Joseph (Class 10). You are all amazing, keep up the hard work!

Ooh, ahh, you’re a star!!

It is PPA on Monday, so children will need to come in their normal school uniform. Remember, reading records are also due in on Monday.

Have a great weekend, enjoy any bonfire celebrations and we will see you on Monday.

Thank you,

UKS2 Team
