UKS2 – Year 6 Maths
Today, the children enjoyed an exciting and active Maths lesson outside as part of our topic on measurement and conversions. To begin the lesson, the children worked in pairs to challenge each other with quick-fire questions involving conversions such as centimetres to metres, metres to kilometres, grams to kilograms, and even time conversions like hours to seconds. Following this, the children worked in larger groups around the school field. They estimated and measured a variety of items, such as goalposts, benches, and marked distances, before converting the measurements into different units. This hands-on activity allowed them to apply their classroom learning in a real-world context and helped to deepen their understanding of measurement.
