Uniform Consultation

Dear Parent/Carers

We would like to consult you on a possible change to the school uniform. This year, as a trial, Reception pupils have only worn the schools PE Kit.

Pupil voice has indicated that the majority of pupils in the rest of school would like to wear PE kit as their full time uniform.

They site the benefits as:

Not having to remember what to wear each day.
It’s comfortable.
We can do everything in it, including Forest Schools.

The children have also requested we remove the sewn on logo from the PE t-shirts as they scratch and requested an option of sweat shirts and/or a zip up hoodie as an alternative to the current PE hoodie.

In terms of concerns:

If we brought this in across school there would be an extended transition period with the current uniform and only ask that when you were due to replace the uniform you bought the PE kit instead.

Positives:

Reduce cost to parents.
Only one uniform.
One set of shoes.
Comfort of pupils.
