Urgent – Reception Closure

Good evening and Happy New Year!

I hope you have all managed to have a break and enjoy some well-earned and definitely needed down time with your families.    It is with huge regret that I am sending you this communication and please accept my sincere apologies for the late notice which was unavoidable.  You may be aware that, over the Christmas break, as a result of updated SAGE advice following the new strain of COVID-19, there have been increasing concerns raised by teaching unions regarding the reopening of schools and some unions have advised teaching staff that it is not safe for them to return to schools tomorrow.  Over the course of today several union meetings have taken place, as a result of which, we will unfortunately be unable to open Reception class tomorrow, due to lack of staff in school.  Reception pupils will move to online learning.  I currently do not know how long this arrangement will be in place for but I will keep you updated as and when I receive further information.  We will be in touch with Reception parents tomorrow via the App and website to ascertain key worker/vulnerable pupils and will endeavour to have provision in place for these groups for Tuesday.

Once again please accept my sincere apologies.
