Wellbeing Forest School – 16.6.26
The older group completed their chicken coop renovation from last week and helped to settle our new chicks into school. Working as a team, pupils had to figure out what jobs needed doing and in what order of priorty they needed to be completed in and allocate tasks and roles. Across the afternoon, they cleaned out the old hutch, did final checks of the enclosure, moved it into position, herded the chicks into the enclosure (which was extremely more challenging than they first realised) and ensured they had fresh food and water. The chicks were happy and settled and we are looking forward to seeing them grow and collecting their eggs in the near future. The younger pupils enjoyed a calming and relaxing session over in our wooded area. Pupils moved between outdoor yoga among our young trees and hammocks tied to our older ones. We talked about breathing strategies, the benefits of trees on our moods and how being in nature can positively impact on our wellbeing and emotions. What a lovely afternoon outside!
