Wellbeing Forest School – 23/9/26

During Wellbeing Forest School sessions today, pupils in both groups learnt the value of helping with jobs around the school grounds. In the younger group, children worked in pairs to use litter pickers and buckets to clean up our Forest School and garden area of rubbish. Children had to cooperate, work as a team and communicate well to ensure the job was done correctly. Afterwards, we discussed how doing the job had made pupils feel and how it had helped lots of other people, including our site manager, the teachers and pupils who use the space and the wildlife that we find in our school grounds. We then completed another task – collecting the eggs and sending them to the school office to sell. The older pupils worked together as well to walk our school goats – Nigel and Lara! Lara is our new goat and it was her first time walking around the school grounds. Pupils were given a crach course on how to handle, control and walk a goat and they took turns to walk them with the lead and follow behind with the poo scooper! Working together, the children – and goats – had a great time and the field was left clean of droppings, which we added to the compost pile.
