Wellbeing Forest School – 24.6.26
In our Wellbeing sessions today, it was all about keeping cool in the shade and how we can use nature and being outdoors as a strategy for regulating emotions. We discussed the importance of making sure we spend time outside and what benefits that can give us. The pupils gave some great responses, including how listening to birds is like listening to calming music, how using trees for games and play makes them feel happier and how being outside is good for their minds and bodies. Both groups had the options of using the hammocks to relax in, take part in mindful breathing techniques and escape the heat, whilst the mud kitchen and tough tray offered some shady activities and water-based play to keep children cool. Pupils could also play and get creative in the sandpit and dig pit, use the swings and take part in some outdoor yoga.
