Wellbeing Forest School – 7/10/26
Pupils in Forest School Wellbeing sessions have enjoyed a lovely morning outside crafting. We discussed World Mental Health Day 2026 which is happening on Friday and why mental health is so important. As the theme is yellow and sunflowers, children began by learning about sunflowers before creating their own out of loose parts. Children had to study a picture, discuss it by pointing our features and patterns before heading off to make their own. Afterwards, children were then challenged to craft another item of their choosing but ensure they had the colour yellow in it. The children showed great imaginations and overcame a number of problems to create bracelets, necklaces, hanging good luck charms and even a wooden slug which could be walked on a lead! The younger pupils also enjoyed crafting necklaces but had the added challenge of creating a picture using loose parts, including yellow items, on a piece of cardboard. Again, children showed great creativity and were able to explain what they had made. Pictures included a lion chasing a mouse and a motorbike which brakes, pedals, seats and a windshield.
