Wellbeing Wednesday – Forest School
What a lovely day to be outside! The older pupils took to gardening this morning. They began with the vegetable beds, which currently have potatoes, onions, pumpkins and lettuce growing in them, before tackling the kitchen garden area which is full of herbs. Next, children took on the challenge of strawberry hunting amongst the leaves – picking ones which were either ripe or ripening to avoid pests getting to them. After all their hard work, we took the goats out for a little bit of exercise before discussing the impact of the gardening, being outside and being around animals on their feelings. The younger pupils had their session on the field den building, where communication and teamwork were essential. Working as one big group, children had to problem solve and confidently talk to one another, share ideas and support one another in the tasks. Well done everyone this morning!
