Wellbeing Wednesday – Forest School

Our sessions today focused on two important aspects; environmental and mental wellbeing. We spent the morning outside surrounded by trees and discussed the benefits they give us. We tried a technique called ‘sit spotting’ where we picked a tree, sat against it and watched and listened to the sound of nature. After sharing what we’d discovered and how it’d made us feel, we then tried yoga in the trees. Again, we discussed the benefits this would give us before trying out some of the stretches. To finish, pupils reflected on their wellbeing and the impact the activities they’d completed had on their wellbeing, with the older children recording this in their journals.
