Wellbeing Wednesday – Forest School

At long last we had a session in beautiful summer sunshine! We began with some outdoor yoga to stretch our muscles and concentrate on our breathing techniques. Afterwards, pupils described how they felt after doing the activity; some talked about how they felt quiet whilst others discussed how relaxed or calm they felt. Next, we tried a new technique known as sit spotting. This is where individuals find a place to sit, switch their mouths off and turn their eyes and ears on! It provides an opportunity to switch off from everything else and tune into nature. Children discussed what they saw and heard then created something they’d experienced using natural materials.
