Y5 – Maths: F2 – 30.09.26

Yesterday, Miss Boyd’s maths group continued exploring decimals, and today we delved further into understanding money.

We began by looking at the different coins, identifying each one and reminding ourselves of their individual values. We then moved on to representing amounts of money as decimal numbers on a place value chart. This activity also tested our ability to add notes and coins together, while helping us to develop a secure understanding of the value of each coin.

It was a great opportunity to connect our learning about decimals with real-life money and to practise using our place value knowledge in a meaningful context.
