Year 3 – Knot Challenge – Forest School

Year 3’s knot tying skills were put to the test this afternoon in Forest School. After a quick recap and practice of the Prusik knot from last time, children revisited the more trickier Bowline knot. After practicing and using their knowledge of the Bowline knot, pupils were challenged to create a Bowline knot on a piece of rope, then onto another rope, then on a stick and then onto two sticks. Despite how fiddly, tricky and technical Bowlines can be to make, all the children persevered and there were some amazing successes which demonstrated the foundations of Forest School; child-led learning, challenge and outcomes! Well done Year 3!
