Year 4 – Skills Recap – Forest School

This afternoon, Year 4 pupils spent time in the Forest School garden area revisiting skills from previous sessions to ensure they remain embedded and confident with them. Pupils took charge of their own risk management through using whittling knives and flint and steel to practice whittling and/or fire lighting where they moved onto setting cotton wool on fire. Children were also able to explore and engage in a number of creative play activities using different areas of the school garden. Children could use the mud kitchen to make delicious meals, explore the loose parts in the tough tray to make items using their imaginations, play in the sandpit where we had some marvellous rivers, castles and underground worlds or use the tree house and swings to engage in physical, outdoor fun.
