Year 4 – Stone Age Day – Forest School – 22/10/26
Pupils in Year 4 travelled back in time for their Stone Age day and became part of a prehistoric tribe who were tasked with surviving. Beginning the day as nomadic tribes, pupils created shelters, gathered food and other resources, created tribe symbols and standards to ward off rivals and created stores to protect their invaluable food. Tribes also created hunting weapons including bows and arrows and spears, medicine, tools, items of jewellery and clay pots for transporting and storing water. In the afternoon, tribes used their hunting weapons and skills to hunt a herd of deer which had come onto the plains before lighting fires to roast their food and make berry tea. At the end of the day, their shelters were tested by a sudden downpour – most proved to be waterproof! Well done Year 4!
