UKS2 – Newsletter – 26.09.25
It has been a fun-filled week in UKS2!
In science, the children were learning about the importance of precision and accuracy in scientific enquiry. Using their working scientifically skills, they were challenged to measure distance, time, mass and volume, as well as estimating then measuring capacity.
The children used a range of equipment and skills in order to explore and measure accurately.
In Forest School, UKS2 created their own paralympic event. Using their knowledge of Ancient Greece, and their study of the Olympics, they were challenged to make a wheelchair friendly event on the field. Using loose parts and teamwork, they then adapted, adjusted and played their games in our own mini Paralympics.
This week in PSHE, we were discussing how we should fuel our bodies! To do this we used ‘Explorify’ to play odd one out using three images of food. Children discussed and debated which food they feel is different to the others and why. The discussions were fantastic and it was a pleasure to see how children respectfully disagreed with one another using thier knowledge of balanced diets and healthy eating.
Please remember to encourage your child to read three times per week at home as well as accessing Spelling Shed and Times Table Rockstars.
We hope you have a great weekend!
