UKS2 – Classes 8&9 – Maths

In Miss Boyd’s maths group this week, we have been learning all about the place value of decimals up to 3 decimal places. We have completed a carousel of activities across the week, one of which was a practical activity with Miss Boyd. In this activity, we used a place value chart and a dice to make different decimal numbers, talking through the value of each digit. Then, we looked at what would happen if we added tenths, hundredths and thousandths to our numbers, and finally we worked in pairs to create various numbers using dice, and compared them with our partners number, using the greater than or less than symbols.
