Y6 – Sausage Sandwiches – Forest School
Today has been a great way to end the Year 6 pupils’ sessions on outdoor cooking. Using our home-made sausages from the farm trip to Little Beck Farm before half-term (as well as vegetarian ones), pupils in Year 6 were tasked with cooking them over an open fire at Forest School. Building on our cooking skills from the previous session and making omelettes, teams created a fire and prepared frying pans, sausages and bread rolls. Carefully turning the sausages and ensuring they didn’t stick to the bottom of the pan, pupils learnt how to cook them on the job and achieved perfectly cooked sausages each time. After sharing how delicious they were, there was a sudden influx of staff orders which the pupils organised, prepared, cooked and delivered to rave reviews! Well done Year 6!
