Year 3 – Games – Forest School
Pupils in Year 3 continued learning about Forest School games this afternoon. After a quick recap of the importance of playing games and why we need to know and follow the rules of a game, children began by playing a favourite from last time – ‘Fire and Tarps.’ Next, they learnt a new game called ‘Tail Grab.’ Pupils had to each have a tail and move around the designated area in a specific way announced by Mr Gamble – like an elephant, like a mouse for example. When ‘Tail Grab’ was shouted, pupils had ten seconds to grab as many tails as possible – the one with the most tails won! As the game developed, new rules were introduced to make it harder and/or change the game to keep it interesting. Pupils could then choose to play either Ninja Sticks or Stick Toss from last week in pairs, thinking about how they could develop and adapt the game in preparation for developing their own Forest School games in the weeks ahead.
