Eid Celebration

We would like to inform you that we are planning to celebrate Eid within school this year. We are aware that Eid is expected to fall between 19th–20th March 2026, and as a school we are celebrating the occasion together on Friday 27th March.

Our local community is incredibly important to us, and we value the rich diversity of cultures and faiths represented within our school. Taking time to recognise celebrations such as Eid helps our children learn about Islamic traditions, develop respect for different beliefs, and appreciate the many cultures that make up our community.

We also recognise that there are currently some sensitive matters happening around the world. We hope that this day will provide a positive opportunity for our school community to come together, celebrate diversity, and reinforce the message that we are united in kindness, respect, and understanding.

In previous years, some of our wonderful parents have kindly supported our celebrations by sharing different elements of Islamic culture and traditions with the children in our hall. If this is something you would be interested in helping with this year, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact the school office if you would like to be involved: info@cookridge.leeds.sch.uk

We would also love for students, who have traditional clothing they would feel comfortable bringing in and wearing on the day, to take part in a small fashion showcase celebrating cultural dress.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us create a welcoming and inclusive school community. We look forward to celebrating together.
