UKS2 – Geography : Human and Physical – b

To conclude our geography topic, year 5 pupils took part in a debate about trade. We began by exploring food and drink packaging, identifying countries of origin and discussing ethical labels such as Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance.

Pupils then worked in two groups to investigate the question: What are the benefits and drawbacks of trade? Using fact files, one group argued the benefits while the other focused on the drawbacks.

The lesson ended with a lively debate, where pupils shared ideas, challenged viewpoints, and developed their understanding of global trade.
