UKS2 – Class 8, 9 & 10 – Eden Camp Trip

Dear Parent/Carer

As part of their exciting new topic of World War 2, UKS2 have the excellent opportunity to visit Eden Camp, Malton next half term. Eden Camp presents the most comprehensive permanent public display of 20th century British military and 1930s-40s civilian and social history in the world, all housed in the historically unique setting of an original World War Two Prisoner of War camp.

The trip will take place on Wednesday 17th June for Year 6, and Thursday 18th June for Year 5. The trip will run in school time, with the coach leaving at 9.15am and returning to school before the end of the day. All pupils will need a packed lunch. A packed lunch will be provided if your child receives Pupil Premium Free School Meals. Children are expected to wear school uniform, and will need to be appropriately dressed for the weather, including raincoats or sunhats and sun cream. Please ensure your child’s packed lunch does not contain any nuts (this includes Kinder Bueno bars and Nutella chocolate spread).

If your child can become travel sick, please make sure your child takes this medication prior to coming to school.

The cost of the trip is £22.00 (£12.00 for pupil premium), which is now available to pay on Arbor. Please give consent for your child to attend the trip by completing the form below. If no consent is received, then your child will be unable to attend the trip.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a step back into history and develop an understanding of the events and impact of World War Two.

Please do not hesitate to contact the office if you have any questions.

Yours faithfully,

Amber Barnicoat
