Wellbeing Forest School – 2.6.26
This afternoon, the two groups enjoyed very different sessions outside in the sun but the focus was the same – communication and teamwork. The younger pupils were tasked with creating one den using den building sticks and tarps which they all needed to fit inside. As the task went on, the pupils discovered that actually formulating a plan and sharing this with each other rather than just grabbing equipment and running in all directions was the way to succeed! After talking through ideas and voting on it, pupils then set about creating a ‘Lean-To’ shelter which they all contributed to. The older pupils, whilst still working on the skills, had to give our new raspberry and strawberry beds some TLC. The children had to remove the wooden sides which were used to create the beds, remove any weeds, relay cardboard which acts as a mulch and then return to the wooden sides to weigh the cardboard down. Being careful and communicating well, pupils managed to get all this done in the time without knocking into each other and asking each other for support and help to accomplish the task – well done everyone!
