Class 2 had a fantastic day visiting Cannon Hall Farm! We began with a tour of the barns where we saw newborn piglets, donkeys, Highland cows, Shetland ponies, horses, reindeer and goats, and we even got the chance to feed some of the animals. Next, we visited the Roundhouse where we watched the farmer round up lots of sheep before exploring the Mammal House, which was very dark because many of the animals were nocturnal. We then enjoyed cheering on our chosen sheep in the sheep race, with the green sheep taking the victory! After lunch outside in the sunshine, we watched the ferret race where ‘Disco Dave’ the blue ferret won. We also had lots of fun pretending to be ferrets ourselves by crawling through the tunnels. Later, we explored the reptile house and were amazed to see a huge line of ants carrying leaves across the building. To finish our exciting day, we spent time on the adventure playground before heading back to school tired but happy after a wonderful trip.
