Wingardium Leviosa!

UKS2 had a fantastic World Book Day based around the theme of Harry Potter. The day started with the pupils taking part in a ‘Potion Making’ class led by Professor Snape, where the children found out which ‘House’ they were in. Gryffindor proved to be very popular!

After taking inspiration from some short clips of the Potter films, we also read a couple of extracts from different scenes within the stories. We then headed out for a Forest School session, where the children decided to do a whole range of activities. Some made their own wands and whittled them into shape. Others recreated scenes that they had watched previously and we even had a Quidditch match!

Also this week, a group of Year 5 pupils took part in a basketball competition at Leeds Beckett University. After winning all of their group games, they were very unlucky to lose in the final to a team they had previously beaten! A fantastic effort from all of those involved!

We would just like to take this opportunity to remind all parents, carers and pupils that on Monday (09.03.2020) it is our Forest School session. On this day, Class 9 pupils will be visiting Adel Dam Nature Reserve but you must have filled out the permission form for your child to ride on the minibus.

If you haven’t already, please sign up for a parents’ evening slot for Tuesday evening.

We hope you have a great weekend and enjoy looking at some of our wonderful outfits from World Book Day!
