Forest School – Tree Planting

It’s been cold, icy, wet and windy this week so far but that hasn’t stopped us planting 91 new trees on our school grounds. Pupils learnt how to perform a t-cut using a spade in order to place the root system of the new tree underground. They then used a cane and spiral to support the development of the new trees.

Here’s a selection of photos of children so far this week planting a variety of saplings of hazel, dogwood, hawthorn and rowan. Only 109 trees left to go!
