UKS2 Newsletter – 17/12/21

What a fantastic term it has been! We’ve had a great week as we prepared for the Christmas break and enjoyed reflecting on all the brilliant work the children have completed this term. Well done to each of them, and we look forward to more fun and learning when we’re back in January.

This week, UKS2 have had a fantastic Forest School Day. Each class had a turn at different activities to explore a different aspect of Forest School. Den Building gave the children an opportunity to problem-solve as a team and create a space to keep warm from the wind.  The garden area was used as a tool/wood workshop and the children used different tools to create Christmas crafts. Lastly, the children used Now Press Play to journey through events in history.

Also this week, UKS2 learnt about Christmas in France! They learnt about key traditions and some new vocabulary, including: une etoile (a star), une bougie (a bell), un flocon de neige (a snowflake) and un cadeau (a present). To help them remember their new French Christmas vocabulary, the children made a Christmas tree craft with vocabulary decorating each branch.

To finish off the week, the children enjoyed a Silent Disco using the Now, Press, Play headphones. It was a lot of fun to dance and celebrate the end to a great term!

Finally, we hope that you all have a wonderful and restful Christmas break! We look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday 4th January 2022.
