Forest School – Wellbeing Wednesday

Today’s session was glorious in the warm summer sun. Both groups kicked started their sessions with observing a bird’s nest and asking and answering questions on it. Then, they had to create a home for another animal thinking about what they could include to help their animal’s wellbeing. Children linked ideas from their own homes and Forest School sessions to create trampolines, yoga mats, a football pitch, computers, fridges, swings and flower gardens! We discussed how each item they’d created can affect wellbeing and strategies we could use in the future. Finally, we learnt about a new breathing technique – finger breathing – then completed some outdoor yoga activities followed by some journal time to review and reflect on the session.
