LKS2 – Class 7 – Computing

Today in computing, we started our new topic of animation! To begin the lesson, we looked at the history of animation. We took our learning back to 1936 when Disney made their first animated feature. On post-it notes, we wrote down how we thought the film was made and how the characters were moving. Then, we watched a video all about how the film was made and how each individual process was made.

In groups, we then researched the different types of early animation inventions including a flip book and a thaumatrope. To finalise the lesson, we used a grid to create our own flipbook, creating images with slight changes on the grids. We then cut these out and made them into our very own flipbooks to show a short animation.
