Beehive Bonfire Night

Remember, remember the 5th of November! And we did it in style! The children enjoyed a variety of pies/rolls with traditional mushy peas or baked beans. We got ourselves wrapped up ready to go to the fire pit. Some children collected some firewood whilst some sat and waited for the marshmallows to appear! Miss Colefax poured the hot chocolate whilst the children devoured their giant toasted marshmallow.

We then entered the poly tunnel for some circle games. As it got dark the children giggled with excitement. It was a bit spooky! As the fire was dying out we sat around it and watched fireworks in the distance and listened to the sounds around us. We could hear the crackling of the fire, the whooshing and the banging of the fireworks when all of a sudden someone spotted something…”It a UFO!” said Liam. “Look at the flashing lights!” everybody looked with amazement at the sky. “its aliens, its an invasion!” Another child added, “don’t be silly, its just a helicopter!”

Our evening was drawing to an end, so what better way to end it than going back inside to finish off the warm pies!

Great fun was had by all, and in Xander’s words, “This was the best day ever!”
