Class 7 – Breary Marsh – Forest School

Today it was Class 7’s turn to venture to the woods for an afternoon of geography, science and Forest School. Once there, pupils split into three groups and took a tour of the woods and the pond area, discussing the differing habitats and the producers, prey and predators that could either be observed, heard or predicted to live there. Then, the groups set up their working area using ribbons and discussed the risks and hazards they may come across whilst in the woods and how to mitigate them. Then, children played Forest School hide and seek, learning about effective communicate, following social rules and how to successfully hide from people! Finally, pupils revisited their science work and created some wonderful food chains inspired by the habitats and animals that had been seen throughout the afternoon.
