To celebrate their final Forest School session this year and to link with our topic of Europe, pupils put their fire lighting skills to the test in order to make stonebaked pizza using Italian cooking methods. Children had to make the dough, roll it, add tomoato sauce and cheese before cooking it on a portable pizza oven over the fire pit. Another team of pupils ensured we had something to drink by boiling water in kelly kettles to make hot mint tea. Children explored the kitchen garden to identifty and locate the mint for the tea and oregano for the pizza topping before carefully picking what they needed.
