Reception have had a super first week back and thoroughly enjoyed starting our new Superhero’s topic! We have dressed up, written out our missions and designed capes that superheroes could wear. We have also talked about everyday superhero’s, such as doctors and fire fighters, and what our super powers might be. After a discussion about police officers, the children carefully thought up and wrote down questions to ask the officers that are coming in to visit us next week!
In Phonics this week our learning has been based on the book Supertato! We have enjoyed acting out the story with puppets as well as reading and writing sentences about the characters.
In Maths, we have been looking at sharing objects equally into groups. We talked about what it meant to be shared equally and the best ways to do this. The children then demonstrated their understanding when sharing dragons gems, cubes and a variety of different natural objects!
On Friday we went down to the school library to enjoy lots of different stories. The children are very excited to go back again next week!
