EYFS-Reception A/B – Newsletter – 14/06/19

Our Forest Schools session this week took us up into the school garden…

Some children became shape detectives- going in search of 3D shapes, naming the shapes and describing some of their properties then taking photographic evidence of the shape they had found. Other children joined in the ‘Hit the Log’ game which required them to keep a tally of their scores them adding the totals to find who was the winner – Congratulations Molly!

In Reception class we really do take every opportunity to explore our outdoor areas – just look at the fantastic time the children had challenging themselves to balance, climb and travel in different ways across our trim trail.

Not only are the children challenging themselves outdoors but also indoors – just look how proud they are of themselves when they have completed the reading challenge – fantastic!

To end our post for this week we’d just like to say thank you to Rawan in Year 6. It was lovely to listen to you read the story of the Gingerbread Man to the children and we have never seen the children so attentive during story time.
