Forest School – Speech and Language Groups
This week, the groups split and completed different activities. The first group created an obstacle course using rope and string. They tied knots to attach it onto trees and thought about how to make their course challenging through changing the direction and height of the rope – as well as the obstacles they could put in the way. Once complete, they had to guide a blindfolded child around their course giving clear, simple and chronological instructions to ensure they remained safe and got from one end to the other. The second group focused on an essential functional task – cleaning out the rabbits. As well as learning about the needs of the animals, they put in fresh hay, food and water and worked in pairs as well as a larger team to complete the task. Throughout, they demonstrated excellent communication skills and shared ideas and plans – well done everyone!
