KS1 – Class 3 – Forest School

We had a fabulous time at Forest Schools today- very muddy!

First we read our new text, Vlad and the Great Fire of London to inspire us.

The children then learnt a new method of weaving the sticks with mud,  this was the method used to build houses in 1666 and so this is how Thomas Farriner’s bakery was actually made.

They learnt how to create a strong wattle structure using sticks and then have some fantastic muddy fun adding the daub mixture to complete their wall. They also created some Great Fire of London pictures using sticks to ‘paint’ their scenes.

Friendly reminder to send in wellies and warm clothes on Forest School days.
