LKS2 – Class 5 -Leeds City Museum

On Tuesday, Class 5 had a fantastic trip to Leeds City Museum. We started the day with getting the bus into town, feeling very excited! Once we arrived at the museum we looked around the Ancient Egyptian gallery. There we saw a real Egyptian mummy that was 3000 years old!!! We also looked at some Ancient Egyptian artefacts. Then we learned how to mummify a body. We took turns pulling out all the organs and then placing them in canopic jars. We learned that there are 4 canopic jars, each representing 4 different Egyptian Gods. Finally, we made our own Egyptian jewellery which we were able to take home. It was a brilliant and exciting morning, and the behaviour of all children was exemplary. Well done, Class 5!
