LKS2 – Class 6 – Science

Today in Science, we continued with our learning on light.

We defined the key vocabulary: opaque, translucent and transparent and thought about different objects which fit into these categories. For example, an apple is opaque but a window is transparent.

Then, we answered the question ‘Which object will make the darkest shadow?’ by conducting a practical experiment. We used torches and four objects – a Lego brick, tissue paper, plastic and card. We turned off the lights in the classroom and recorded our evidence of which object created the darkest shadow. We found that both the card and the Lego made the darkest shadow, because they are opaque.
