LKS2 – Forest School – Egyptian Bread

After learning about Ancient Egyptian diets, pupils in Years 3 and 4 had the opportunity to make an Ancient Egyptian Flatbread known as Aish Baladi. Similar to pita, this is a delicious ancient bread recipe and the earliest version of this recipe was found on the wall of Senet’s tomb in Luxor, Egypt. Children enjoyed making the dough, kneading it, rolling it and or course eating it! Just like the Ancient Egyptians, they spread honey over the bread for that extra sweet taste!
