LKS2 – Newsletter – 07.07.2023

This week, in year 3 maths, we used our knowledge of bar charts to solve an investigation. We were given a bar chart with missing information. Using the clues provided, we had to work out which bar was representing which bit of information. We worked together as a team to help solve the investigation.

In computing, we explored the program 2Animate on PurpleMash to begin making our own animations. We used the drawing tool to draw pictures on the frame. We then added frames and changed each one slightly to create our animation. We used inspiration from our Science topic to create the animation of a plant growing.

In Geography, we combined our knowledge of land use in Europe with our skills of using a compass. First, we studied a map of Europe which showed the main ways land is used. We then drew our own map using chalk, and collected natural resources to show the different areas of land use. Then, we chose a destination on the map to direct our partner to. Our partner placed the toy car on a chosen start point and we used compass directions to direct them across the map.
