Nurture Group – Forest School

We continued our weather topic by talking about ice and snow today including how, why and when they are formed. With temperatures forecasted to dip well below freezing overnight,  we set about making an ice hanging decoration. We looked all around the Forest School area for different natural materials of all textures, colours, shapes and sizes and added them to a plate. We then added a loop of string to the bottom of our plate before rearranging our objects to create a pattern or image of our choice before leaving to freeze overnight. The next day, we were surprised to see our finished decorations, all perfectly held together by ice. We chose to decorate a tree near our classroom with them.
