Reception – Forest School

Continuing on our theme of celebrating National Apple Day (which was held on Saturday 21st October) this week here at Cookridge, pupils in Reception enjoyed a morning of apple related activities in their Forest School session. Due to the rain, pupils could use the poly tunnel to decorate their own apples before cutting them out to create an apple tree in the Reception classroom. Children also loved taking part in a traditional game – apple bobbing. They all loved the chance of trying something new and listened incredibly well to the rules of the game and then followed them brilliantly to ensure contests against their friends were fair. Children also had the opportunity to help Mr Gamble keep a fire going in the fire pit (despite the rain) to roast apples on to provide us all with a warm, tasty snack whilst out in the rain.
