Tuesday Group – Forest School

What a fun(gi) afternoon we had around the school grounds today! After discussing the features of Autumn, we teamed up for our fungi foray or, as the pupils called it, a mushroom hunt! Carefully, we moved around the school grounds searching for autumnal fungi. We couldn’t believe the wide variety we found. There were mushrooms of all shapes, sizes and colours, all growing in different places. Using our fact finding cards, we tried to identify as many as we could but for some they remained a mystery. We used our ipads to take photographs of the mushrooms and back in the warmth of the school library we used our photos to search the internet to find the names of them. Great work everyone.
